Thalía and Laura Zapata were spotted together in New York City on her way to lunch
The pregnant singer and wife of Tommy Mottola, and Zapata Laura leaves with difference of few minutes, from a restaurant in the West Village. Apparently their mother’s death has somehow helped the sisters have reconciled their relationship.
After the burial of their mother, Mrs. Yolanda Miranda Mange, Thalía and Laura Zapata forgot their resentments and they decided to have lunch in New York City.
The reunion of the sisters was one of the subjects that the press could not avoid to touch with the death of Yolanda Miranda Mange, since Laura Zapata, Thalía and Ernestina Sodi had been distanced for several years.
Nevertheless, Laura Zapata confirmed that there had been a “painful reconciliation” during the funeral of their mother. Days later, Thalía put up a picture on her Twitter of a family picture of which all the sisters are reunited.
The rift began in 2002, when Laura Zapata and Ernestina Sodi was kidnapped and Thalía paid the ransom. Years later Laura Zapata announced that she was planning to do a play narrating what happened to her and her sister.
Thalía gave clear instructions that she should not include her name and that of her husband, but Laura ignored it in the opening to Cautivas. The sisters were separated, but met again in 2005: “We’re like all the siblings. One day we can beat us in the shins and the next day be embraced and love one another,” Laura Zapata said to the press at a dinner organized by the magazine TV y Novelas.
In October 2006, four years after they were abducted, Ernestina Sodi told her version of the story in the book Líbranos del mal. The most chilling passages narrated the sexual violatin and suggested that it was her sister Laura Zapata prevented her freedom, which deeply hurt the actress.
After several years of not talking, Laura Zapata and Thalía met again at the funeral of their mother and broke into tears as they hugged each other. In New York, the actresses were given a time to have lunch and put away things that have happened in their lives.
